Ayurveda

What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is a holistic approach to a way of living, is an ancient Indian health system, it means, the “science of life”(Ayu: life, Veda: knowledge).
According to Ayurveda the body health is a "perfect dance or flow" of the mind, body and soul, where a combination of the 5 elements will give you three different energies or constitutions that will interfere in the mental, social and spiritual harmony of each person. It called Doshas.
Ayurveda will support balancing spirit, mind and body. One cannot function well, if the other one is in need of attention. Here, you can find how to do the work where all will get the attention needed. In a customized diet, lifestyle, daily practices and your own body wisdom that is personalized to your unique constitution, you will be able to bring awareness to who you are.
How Ayurveda can help in your everyday life?
In Ayurveda, you learn that we are nothing but an extension of nature, we are made of 5 elements: space, air, fire, water and earth, which can go out of balance for numerous reasons, such as, the way of treating and nourishing yourself mentally, physically or both. Have you seen how a plant grown beautifully just with natural resources? It doesn’t need anything else other than what it already has, sun, good soil and water. Same for the human body, nature has to offer everything that we need, but most of the time we don’t know how to use it, or we make poor choices, simply because "we don't know better" or what we have learned it is all we know and, that's ok, we all have to learn how to walk. Ayurveda will guide you how to use these natural resources and when to use it.
The three Doshas are:
VATA: A combination of Space and air elements
PITTA: A combination of Fire and Water elements
KAPHA: A combination of Water and Earth elements.
Ayurveda has a way of living which consist in discovering your Dosha and living accordingly to prevent imbalances. It includes a daily routine, diet, herbs a seasonal detox of the body and the mind.
For Ayurveda everyone is different and unique, so counseling will guide you how to do so, based in your constitution and way of living.
However, is advised to do a FULL BODY ASSESSMENT in order for a detailed evaluation.
What happens in an Ayurveda full body consultation?
Ayurveda is a system that does a full body assessment because it understands that each person has a unique constitution. This person will have a different percentage of VATA, PITTA and KAPHA on their body, and it will manifest uniquely in each person as well, for example, one may have a tendency to be more anxious, unfocused, can't stop thinking about work, inability to relax, and difficulty losing weight, getting up in the morning or constant nausea. The body assessment can give one direction of what may be the cause of all those symptoms.
